NSH decided to revamp the area at the end of Manor Close in Walesby. The area was unsightly and was used as a carpark for unwanted vehicles. To the foot of the tree was broken up tarmac and concrete creating trip hazards.
Our aim was to stop cars parking on the corner, reduce the trip hazards and to improve the aesthetics of the area.
We liaised with the local councillor and residents in order to come up with a contemporary design using 3 planters and block paving in order to eradicate the above issues. The work was started at the beginning of November at took around 3 weeks to complete.
The project was completed on time with no major issues and the contractors used were very professional. All the work carried out was to a very high standard and all the local residents are very happy with the end result.
"I would like to say that the improvements at the junction of Manor Close and Main Street have made a huge difference to the appearance of this part of Walesby. Instead of a shabbily tarmaced open area which was frequently used by a business to park a number of vans and cars, we have a very attractive, planted, raised bed within a pleasantly surfaced and fenced off area. On the opposite side an unsightly and potentially dangerous sprawl of reinforced concrete at the foot of a tree has been replaced by another complementary raised bed.
Overall, it gives a wholly different impression to the residents and visitors and makes an attractive feature of what was an eyesore. Thanks very much for the work, and my compliments to Mr. Nathan Saunders for the quality of the brickwork and surfacing in particular."
